The start to Vancouver FC’s inaugural season continues to be promising as for the third consecutive week there has been at least one VFC player on the CPL Team of the Week. This time around it is Kadin Chung and Gael Sandoval who both receive their first recognition of the 2023 season on the league’s best XI.

Chung has been improving match after match in his new position as a midfielder. Against Halifax, the Port Coquitlam native registered six crosses, two chances created and won five duels. His game on Saturday also earned him the Performance of the Match against Halifax.

Sandoval, who assisted on the tying goal, created constant danger with dribbles or placing the ball in prime locations for his teammates to pursue. The 27-year-old’s attacking qualities have helped to achieve a team average of 1.51 expected goals per game and 9.33 shots per game.
