Vancouver FC recap offseason roster moves

Vancouver FC’s squad for 2025 is coming together as the club has announced all departing and returning members from the 2024 CPL season that saw the Eagles finish just outside of a playoff spot. As of January 16th, 2025 the Vancouver FC roster heading into preseason has been finalized.

Elage Bah, Paris Gee, and David Norman, Vasco Fry, T.J. Tahid, Grady McDonnell, Alejandro Diaz, Mikael Cantave, and Jose Navarro already had guaranteed options for the 2025 CPL Season.

On January 9th Vancouver FC announced it has secured its goalkeeping duo of Callum Irving and Niko Giantsopoulos for the upcoming Canadian Premier League season, after the league veterans each signed new contracts with the Eagles. Irving has signed a new deal that see’s him guaranteed to remain with the Eagles through 2026 with Giantsopoulos contract set to run through 2025.

On January 13th the Eagles revealed Gabriel Bitar had been transferred to York United and Eagles would receive York United’s first pick in the 2026 CPL-U SPORTS Draft. Vancouver FC also announced it had bid farewell to departing players Kadin Chung, Anthony White, Renan Garcia, Olivier Rommens, Zachary Verhoven, Rocco Romeo, Moses Dyer and Austin Ricci.

Earlier this week Vancouver FC announced they had picked up options on U21 Canadians James Cameron and Matteo Campagna. The club also announced Tyler Crawford has signed a new contract through 2025 and will continue with the Eagles as he looks to return from a long-term injury that ended his 2024 season.

Yesterday Vancouver FC midfielder Ben Fisk announced his retirement from professional soccer, completing a decorated 14-year career that spanned continents and saw Fisk play an integral role in the growth of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) as an original player who represented four clubs over the past six seasons. Fisk will join the Vancouver FC Front Office as their new Director of Partnerships.

In early December Vancouver FC selected Henri Godbout and Mehdi Essoussi in the 2025 CPL U-SPORTS Draft. Both players will be invited to Vancouver FC preseason with the chance to earn a contract for the 2025 CPL Season.

Vancouver FC now has 14 players signed to its 2025 roster.
