Vancouver FC is proud to announce its newest partnership with the Canadian Union of Skilled Workers British Columbia (CUSW-BC) for the 2025 season, further solidifying the club’s commitment to community engagement and youth development. This collaboration not only aligns with Vancouver FC’s mission of fostering local growth but also highlights the connection between soccer and the trades—two industries deeply rooted in working-class values and the promise of rewarding career pathways.
CUSW-BC will be the official matchday sponsor for Vancouver FC’s second home game on April 13th, when the club faces off against Atlético Ottawa. As part of the partnership, the first 500 children through the gates will receive team-branded construction hats, symbolizing the unity between the trades and soccer in fostering future opportunities. This initiative aligns with Vancouver FC’s and CPL’s broader mission of creating opportunities for young people, both on and off the pitch, and connects to the 500+ jobs created through CPL initiatives.

Taking this initiative a step further, CUSW-BC will host a Skilled Trades Fair during the April 13th match, providing a platform for aspiring tradespeople to explore careers in the industry. Local trade companies will be present, offering internships, job opportunities, and valuable insights into their respective fields. This event not only benefits young individuals looking to break into the trades but also serves as a marketing opportunity for businesses seeking new clients and skilled workers.
For Vancouver FC fans, this is more than just an exciting matchday experience—it’s also a chance to connect with local professionals. Whether you’ve been searching for a reliable general contractor, plumber, or electrician, the Skilled Trades Fair will offer direct access to experts who can help tackle those long-standing projects.
Vancouver FC continues to uphold its commitment to community growth and engagement, acting as a catalyst for local businesses to thrive. This partnership with CUSW-BC demonstrates how sports organizations can play a vital role in fostering career opportunities and strengthening local industries. By bridging the gap between soccer and the trades, Vancouver FC and CUSW-BC are laying the foundation for a prosperous future for young Canadians.
Tradespersons or businesses interested in activating at the match on April 13th can do so with compliments of CUSW-BC, as they have covered the activation and entry fees. To take advantage of this opportunity, please fill out this form to be contacted by Vancouver FC’s business operations team.
