At just 16 years old, Felipe has been making waves in Canadian soccer, developing his skills through Mountain United FC in the BC Soccer Premier League before joining the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy in 2022. More recently, he became a standout player for Vancouver FC’s U-19 Academy team, where his talent and hard work caught the attention of the first team. Felipe’s first team contract makes him the first player in club history to sign a full professional contract from the club’s academy.
His abilities haven’t gone unnoticed beyond club football either. In December 2024, Felipe earned a well-deserved call-up to the Colombian Men’s U-17 National Team for their training camp in Barranquilla. The recognition at the international level speaks to his skill, composure, and potential between the posts.
For Vancouver FC, this signing represents more than just adding a talented goalkeeper—it’s a commitment to developing young, local players and helping them take the next step in their careers. Felipe’s journey from local youth soccer to professional ranks embodies the club’s dedication to growing the game in British Columbia and beyond. As he transitions into the first team, he will have the invaluable opportunity to train alongside two of the league’s most experienced goalkeepers—Callum Irving and Niko Giantsopoulos. Both mentors bring a wealth of professional experience, leadership, and knowledge, providing Felipe with an ideal environment to refine his skills and grow into a top-level goalkeeper. Their guidance will be instrumental in helping him adjust to the demands of the professional game, from reading the play to commanding the box with confidence.
With Felipe now officially part of the first-team squad, Vancouver FC fans have plenty to be excited about. His presence strengthens the goalkeeping group and adds to the team’s long-term vision. As he takes this next step in his career, the entire club is looking forward to seeing him develop and make his mark on the pitch. There’s no doubt that Felipe has a bright future ahead, and Vancouver FC is proud to be part of his journey.
